Some people are simply dyslexic. But it's amazing how many misspellings of "typewriter" I've seen:
typewritter
type writer
typerwriter
TypeWriter
Typwriter
typeriter
typewrighter
type writter
and more!

Has it ever been spelled tipewriter? or Typeryter?

In Spanish, my biggest gripe with spelling has to do with the use of accents and some consonants like S, C, Z, and X. Not really sure about other countries, but in Mexico, all those letters have the same sound, and thus people tend to use them interchangeably when they write. And the accents! "maquina", instead of "máquina".

And things get even funnier with people my age, who learned to type on our trusted Olivettis which didn't provide a way to accent capital letters.

And don't get me started about the poor letter H, which, being mute, is very often denied its place in the words.
